Bridesmaid Dress “Situation”

January 8th, 2007 by Jenny

When Bethany (my matron of honor) got married last year, she found her wedding dress at Bravura in east Cobb. So, after not finding any bridesmaid dresses that stood out at David’s Bridal, we took a drive over there to see their selection. I knew I wanted chocolate brown, but it is hard to find the right shade of brown that complimented my wedding dress. When you start looking, it’s amazing at how many shades of brown there are! So, wanting to find the perfect shade, along with the right style to compliment everyone’s figure, you can imagine how hard it was to find the right ones.

After making Bethany try on at least 20 different dresses, we finally found the perfect one! The strapless, chocolate brown dresses are cut in an A-Line style with a taupe belt and a dazzling, oval buckle. So, we thought it was smooth sailing from then on, right? WRONG!

Both Bethany and Megan went to get measured for their dresses on different occasions, both by different woman. One woman used the wrong side of the tape when measuring Megan, and I don’t know what happened with Bethany’s, but when they both went to try them on, they were each four sizes too big! Four sizes!!!

Knowing we only had two months left, I was getting very nervous as to if we could get the dresses altered in time. Basically, the alterations required the dresses being remade, and it was too late to order new sizes. So, Bravura agreed to pick up the alterations costs, since the measuring errors were made by their staff. Thank goodness! We went back on Saturday to make sure the dresses fit, and there were only a few small alterations to be made, and the dresses will be ready two weeks before the wedding.

Talk about cutting it close! But thanks to Bravura for making things right and helping to make my wedding a success!
