We’re married!!!!
Hello All! Mr. and Mrs. Williams have arrived back to the cold, winter Georgia weather. Everything was perfect - the rehearsal, the wedding, the reception and the honeymoon. We did get a little stressed out during the last week, but once the festivities began, we were enjoying every moment.
The rehearsal was a blast! All of the parents and the wedding party had a great time. It was more like a party than a rehearsal. Bethany pulled up at the last minute in her Eagle 106.7 van. What a hoot that was! She always makes me smile and keeps me laughing! We had dinner at Shillings, and it really was a nice, intimate dinner with our parents and the wedding party. The Marietta Square was beautiful, and we had a really nice view of it on the second floor in front of the window.
My parents and I stayed at The Whitlock Inn for the evening. Sean went back to his house with his mom and family. It was a really nice time for both of us to be with our families right before we got married. My mom and dad made it very special by giving me cards from each of them over breakfast. Sean’s mom treated him to a home-cooked breakfast before they all got dressed up for the wedding.
Mom, the girls and I went to get our hair and make-up done. That was so much fun! By that time, my adrenaline was at 100%! I couldn’t believe how fast the day went by! We got to the church 30 minutes late, so the guys took pictures first. I practically ran into the church to get dressed in time for pictures. After that, it was time.
I met dad at the back of the church, and we were so excited we could hardly stand still. Then, the music started, and there I was - walking down the aisle with my dad. Wow! The day I always dreamed of was here! I met Sean down at the front, and there we joined our lives as Mr. and Mrs. Williams. I didn’t know, but my dress covered up the entire steps, and poor Bethany had to hike up her dress and jump the step to get onto the platform. HAHA…. oops! Sorry, girl!
The reception was more than I ever imagined. I always wanted my reception at The Whitlock Inn. The atmosphere, the history and its beauty have always caught my eye - even driving to ballet class as a little girl. Sean and I walked in to the string quartet and a house full of guests. What a neat feeling to know how many people love us and want to be a part of our lives. It meant so much and was very overwhelming at times.
We finally had given out. Our adrenaline dropped to zero, and we needed to lay down and relax. So, off we went to the Ritz-Carlton for the evening. We ordered us a nice meal in the room, and enjoyed a quiet evening that did not consist of phone calls and wedding planning. Early that morning, we were off to the airport and onward to St. Lucia.
Our honeymoon was awesome. We enjoyed the shady, breezy beaches, our adventures that included a ride through the rainforest and a tour of the island on a helicopter, and the laid back culture of the island folk. The food wasn’t terrific, but all of the other amenities made up for it.
So, here we are as “the married couple.” We are enjoying the start of our new life together and we look forward to many more years ahead!Â
