The Weekend is Here…
And we’re both sick. *sigh* We both started coming down with a sinus infection this past week, and it is taking its toll on both of us. Being pregnant and sick is a totally different experience than being “normal” and sick. First, I called my OB to see if they would call me something in. Then, the nurse told me to call my primary care physician and just tell him I was pregnant. Then, I called them, and they told me they would prefer I went through my OB, not them. By this time, I was almost in tears and desperate. When I called the OB the second time, I think they could tell I was on the verge of another pregnancy meltdown, and they were very nice and finally took care of me. Everyone is so scared of being liable for a pregnancy going wrong these days that everything seems to be directed through your OB now. So, I’m battling it out with antibiodics and Sudafed. Sean and I have gone through four boxes of Kleenex and two rolls of toliet paper with our runny noses so far. I hope this ends soon!!!
As for fun stuff, we did manage to get out a little on Saturday for some fresh air. It seems that mall traffic is starting to get crazy with the holidays approaching, and on the way home, we both commented on being grateful for living in a more secluded area. There is no way I would move back to Cobb County, even if you paid me to! It’s ridiculous! Anyways, we went to Babies R Us and bought a mattress for the crib. Sean put the crib together and we set up the chest of drawers that arrived this week. I washed the baby bedding and got it put on the bed, and we carefully placed Pooh and Eyore and Tigger in the crib for safe keeping from the dogs. It seems Tucker has really taken an interest in this new nursery - haha. I caught him in there licking baby clothes this week, so he has to lay at the door and stay out of the room now. Crazy hound dog!
We have put together our baby registries at Babies R Us and Target now. All of the necessities are now on our registry lists, thanks to several of my friends who are experienced parents. They have been wonderful in giving me some really great advice on things we will need and which products are of good quality and will hold up. Once we find out the baby’s gender in late-November, we will add more things that are tailored to a little girl or a little boy. But the basics are on there!
It’s hard to believe we are 15 weeks along! Sean and I get excited with every passing week, and we’re enjoying our Pregnancy Week by Week book that tells us how our baby is growing each week. It’s been a lot of fun! Hard to believe we’re going to be parents, but we couldn’t be more happy. Hope you all are doing well!
