6 Month Checkup

December 19th, 2007 by Jenny

On Monday, we hit the six month mark! Our doctor’s appointment was today, and everything looks perfect. They had to once again draw blood for a vitamin study that I was participating in, but that was the only “not so fun” part. Did I mention that I REALLY hate needles?! We talked about all of the back pain I was having, and the doctor said I could go to the chiropractor for relief. YAY! And I had my first Braxton Hicks contractions this weekend, which also are normal at this point in pregnancy. It’s hard to explain them, except that I knew exactly what it was when I felt it. My uterus contracted to the point where I couldn’t move, but it wasn’t painful at all - definitely a weird feeling.

We have officially graduated from the four week appointments to the three week appointments, which tells us we are starting to get close to meeting our baby boy! After the next couple of three week visits, we will start going every other week. So, time is drawing near, and we are getting really excited (if you can’t already tell by all of the exclamation points in this blog)!

For now, we can rest easy knowing our baby is doing well, and start focusing on getting the house ready for Christmas.
