Christmas Festivities
Christmas came and went in a flash! Sean and I hosted Christmas at our house this year, and it has been a whirlwind around here. Mom and dad came in on Christmas Eve night. It was great to have them with us on Christmas morning and to help us prepare for our big Christmas dinner that evening. We had 22 of our family all gather with us for a big dinner. It was so neat to have our families together all in the same place.
Just before dinner, I managed to express my ultimate pregnancy clumsiness by breaking a raw egg in the kitchen floor (Note: I can’t bend over well, so mom had to help me get in the floor to clean that up.), spilling ham juice from the fridge all across the kitchen floor to the sink (Note: Once again, mom had to get in the kitchen floor to wipe most of the juice up while I ran for the mop with only minutes before guests were to arrive.), and burning my knuckle on the corn casserole in the oven. MAN! I was a disaster! I just wanted to sit in the middle of the kitchen floor and just cry my eyes out. Somehow, I managed to get my hormones under control and run up to my room before anyone could see me lose my cool. I had ham juice all over my new Christmas outfit and had to change into jeans and a nice T-shirt. Luckily, this wasn’t a dressy occasion, or I would have been in a pickle! Once I got it out of my system, the rest of the night ran pretty smoothly. We had a great time!
Oh! I almost forgot… Sean surprised me with an IPOD NANO and a docking station/stereo that I LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t believe he got that for me! I was so excited! And my parents got me a new pair of lamps from Z Gallerie (one of my favorite stores) for our bedroom. Now Sean finally has a lamp so he can read in bed - YAY! The inlaws got me much needed kitchen items I had asked for, as well as a new jewelry box and set of towels that we desperately needed. Baby Jack also did well with clothes, books and toys. (I can’t believe we’re going to have an 8-month old next Christmas!) So, we really did well this Christmas, and I am so thankful for all of my wonderful gifts. It was a gift just to spend Christmas with my husband for the first year! He is so good to me, and I thank God that he is in my life. Life is much more fun with him in it!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Now it’s time to gear up for the Sugar Bowl! GOOOOOOOOOOOO DAWGS! SICK ‘EM! WOOF, WOOF WOOF!
