New Carpet

December 14th, 2007 by Jenny

Well, the day is finally here! New carpet for the entire house! I’m really excited to be getting rid of all the dog dander, “accidents,” and old cat smell. YUCK! I think this will be one step to helping us breathe better and have better luck with our allergies and sinuses. I know the dog dander and accidents will be back, but at least we can get our carpets professionally cleaned a few times a year and keep it more under control. Sometime before the baby is born, we also are getting our ducts cleaned out. So, our baby (plus mom and dad) will have healthy air!

The unpleasant part about getting new carpet is now beginning though. Sean and the guys have to move everything on carpet to non-carpeted areas of the house (not many of those) or to the garage, and we have A LOT of furniture. We’re hoping the big pieces will slide into the bathrooms or the kitchen, so they don’t have to be carried too far. Thankfully, our neighbor and two friends from our Sunday School class are helping Sean with that big task before tomorrow, and my brother and his wife have agreed to let us stay with them for the night. So, we’re dreading it and excited all at the same time.

Next week, the house projects will be wrapping up. The upstairs bathrooms will be painted and the entryway tile will be installed. Not to mention, I can bring in the Christmas tree and start decorating for our first Family Christmas Dinner that we hope to make a tradition at our house in the coming years. Lots going on at our house right now - I’m looking forward to relaxing with my family over the holidays and enjoying our completed house!
