Pain, Pain, Go Away

January 24th, 2008 by Jenny

Today has not been a very happy pregnancy day. I woke up extremely nauseated and with little sleep. My arms and hip kept falling asleep last night, and I just tossed and turned the entire night long. Not to mention I had this annoying cramping in my stomach all night. I managed to get the dogs fed and put up for the day and had a bowl of Lucky Charms for breakfast. Man, I was struggling. As the day went on, I drank as much water as humanly possible. I knew that being dehydrated could result in more cramping, so I made sure that was not the problem. As the day went on, I felt just as bad, until the lower back pain kicked in. I was starting to get really worried… low back pain with cramping can sometimes signify pre-term labor and contractions. So, I made a call to my OB’s office hoping for some peace of mind that everything was OK. And it was. The nurse explained it was probably just round ligament pain and that my uterus was stretching and my hips were spreading to make more room for the baby. Man alive! I could not be more uncomfortable. I hope this eases up real soon!
