It’s hard to believe, but we are eight months pregnant this week! We only have 55 more days to go until Baby Jack’s due date. I’m still washing baby clothes from our shower this past Saturday, and Sean set up Jack’s Rainforest swing and Jumperoo in our family room. Our house is starting to look like we really have a baby - haha!

We had our routine doctor’s visit today, and everything looked right on track. Jack’s heartbeat was strong, and he was moving all over the place. Babies in the womb at this stage can now feel temperature changes on the mother’s skin. So, when the doctor put the doppler on my belly with the cold lotion to listen to his heartbeat, he gave her a good kick right at the top of my belly. I had to laugh!

As for me, the swelling in my ankles was her only worry, but she just told me to keep a good eye on that over the next two weeks. She said most of the weight I had gained was probably fluid, but that everything else looked perfect, so she wasn’t worrying too much yet. Other than that, she asked us if we had chosen a pediatrician and if we had the car seat installed. We gave her our pediatrician’s name and told her the car seat would be installed by month’s end, so she was happy with that. It’s hard to believe that our baby could come anytime in March and be healthy enough to stay out of the NICU! Personally, I wouldn’t mind him making an earlier appearance. Sean and I are both over being pregnant and ready to see our baby boy!
