Quickly Getting Uncomfortable (33 Weeks)

Here we are at 33 weeks! Jack has been growing like a little weed this week. I can always tell when he has growth spurts because I usually start having specific cravings and I can’t get enough to eat during those times. My craving this week has been Mexican food, specifically cheese quesadillas and flan! I never ate this much dessert before I was pregnant, but now I can’t get enough. Some of the changes I have started to experience are:

  • I am always hot regardless the temperature outdoors (see me in short-sleeves in the picture above).
  • I have crazy dreams at night.
  • I only sleep in one-to-two hour intervals.
  • I constantly have to use the bathroom.
  • I get winded just walking to the bathroom.
  • Constipation and hemorrhoids are not only for old people - it happens to pregnant ladies too (YUCK!).
  • It’s hard to get in and out of my car, and we can no longer take Sean’s car anywhere because I cannot get in it at all (getting out of it may possibly take a small crane at this point).
  • My large maternity clothes no longer fit me.
  • My hips have probably expanded a good inch or two in the past month.
  • My fingers look like they belong to the Pillsbury Dough Boy.

This weekend, our Sunday School class is throwing us our second baby shower, so we are really looking forward to that! Next week, my mom and sister-in-law are throwing us our last baby shower, and we go back to the doctor for our last two-week visit. We’ll go once a week until Jack is born after that! The scheduling lady at my OB office said to me last week, “We won’t schedule your appointments ahead anymore, sweetie. It’s week by week from now on.” That really made me nervous! We’re hoping Baby Jack holds off until we have our childbirth class at the beginning of March. I don’t really want to walk into labor being oblivious and naive to what will happen- haha! At least if I know, I can be somewhat prepared.

I guess that’s about it for now. We’ll keep you posted on the latest events!
