Happy Easter!

March 23rd, 2008 by Jenny

What a gorgeous weekend for such a wonderful holiday! Not only did we welcome Spring this week, but we got to celebrate our Lord and Savior rising from the dead to give us eternal life! What a gift! Sean and I have had a really great Easter weekend. On Friday, we had a spontaneous date night. We went out for Mexican, which poor Sean is getting tired of thanks to my pregnancy cravings. Then, we came home and watched Becoming Jane. It’s a movie about the life of Jane Austin. It wasn’t as good as I had hoped it would be, but we managed to get through it without falling asleep - haha. Sean had picked out a few action movies this week that I watched with him, so he suffered through yet another chick flick for his wife. Thanks honey!

After sleeping in on Saturday, we decided to make our weekly Zaxby’s lunch run and visit Home Depot for some supplies. Sean wanted to get all of the parts he needed to build us a gate for the back deck. There have been many times we needed to put the dogs outside but didn’t want to deal with muddy feet or to supervise Reo to make sure he wasn’t eating poop (I know, I know, lovely!), so we are finally getting around to putting up a gate to confine them to the back porch when we need to. Then, we decided to attend the Saturday Easter service at our church with my brother and sister-in-law. Man, what a great service! Newsong was there and did a fantastic job with the special music. I haven’t heard “Arise, My Love” in years, and the whole auditorium was on their feet by the end of it! It was just really touching! As always, Pastor Johnny had a great message. We really enjoy being members of such an amazing church! If you want God to show up, you can always plan on meeting Him there! You can’t help but feel His presence - Sean and I always talk about how we get goose bumps almost every Sunday. God really speaks in a powerful way through the leaders of our church. Afterwards, we all ate dinner together at Longhorns and headed back to John and Meggo’s house for a little jamming session with Rock Band! WOOHOO! It’s our newest family obsession!

Today has been a very relaxed day. Once again, we got spoiled with sleeping in. Then, we headed down to my grandmother’s house for family lunch. We called my folks on the way home to wish them a happy Easter and see how dad’s church service went today. They are doing well, but tired after a very busy week. Now we are back home, and Sean is working on building the gate. Our neighbor had some scrap lumber and was nice enough to let us have it for our little building project. (Thanks James!)

We are looking forward to our 38 week doctor’s appointment tomorrow, so stay tuned for more on Baby Jack! Happy Easter!
