One Month Old!!!

April 29th, 2008 by Jenny

Today, our little Jack is one month old! He has outgrown all of his newborn clothes and now is in his three month sizes. He has found his hair and likes to play with it a lot. Sean and I even saw him discovering his ears the other day. He has graduated to his infant bath tub and seems to enjoy the warm water. He has become a lot more alert and vocal during the day. He has the sweetest little cry that easily melts our hearts. He always smiles right before he falls asleep. He has been nicknamed Piglet for his big appetite, and is he ever growing! Last time we weighed him, he was a little over 10 pounds! He has his official one month check-up next week, so we’ll see how much he has really grown then.

We’re starting to get a little more sleep at night now. He is starting to sleep for 3-4 hours at a time most nights, and he usually takes four 2-hour naps during the day. That’s when mom also catches up on her sleep! I’m not very obsessive about housework as much as I use to be. I’m going to enjoy my little man while he still loves to cuddle. Vacuuming and dusting can just wait! I don’t see anyone walking in my house with a white glove anyways! The one chore I have managed to stay on top of is the laundry. And it’s a good thing! Jack goes through 2-3 outfits a day now, and I’m limited on my wardrobe right now. My maternity pants are getting too big, and my old clothes are way too small right now. Guess I’m due a shopping trip sometime soon.

Sean and I took Jack on his first shopping trip this past weekend. We went to Babies R Us and Target with him. Tonight, we took him to Belks so his daddy could get some new pants for church. He usually just sleeps right now, which is nice. If he is awake, he is usually fussy from being hungry. And I don’t want to have to feed him in some dirty dressing room! Have you seen the floors and walls of those things! GROSS!

Here are a few more recent pictures of Jack:
