Jack’s One Month Check-up

May 5th, 2008 by Jenny

Today, I took Jack to his one month check-up, and the pediatrician was so impressed! Jack weighs 10 lbs. 11 oz. and is 23.5 inches long. He has really taken off over the past two weeks! When the doctor put Jack on his belly, he could lift his head and turn it from side to side, and he was able to track the doctor’s fingers from left to right. He commented on Jack’s development and how it is characteristic of a two month old, so mom was very, very proud of her little man today. Although, it’s sad he is changing and growing up this fast already! He is still nursing like a champ, and we have had no problems so far. He will occasionally take a bottle of pumped milk from Sean, which is a special treat for dad to get to feed him. And he loves his Soothie pacifier!

This weekend was a busy one for us. Jack went to his first baby shower on Saturday. It was nice to get to hang out with all of the girls from my Sunday School class, and of course to show off my new son! Jack also got to visit with Grandma and Grandpa from North Carolina. They haven’t seen him since he was born, so it was a real treat for them to get to spend some time with Jack. Finally, we had our parent/child dedication at church on Sunday. Sean and I pledged to raise Jack in a loving, Christian home. It was a very special time for us.

I am now facing a clothes dilemma. It’s very hard to shop for clothes when you are too small for maternity clothes and too big for your regular clothes! Sean and Jack have gone shopping with me on several occasions, and I left empty handed. So, I think you may be seeing me in athletic/work-out attire for awhile until I can fit into some of my old stuff. Surely I can find some yoga pants that fit me! HA!

Alright, my brother just called asking if we wanted freshly cooked pizza, so we’ll sign off for today! Hope everyone is doing well. Stay tuned for more pictures this week!
