I could kick myself for not looking into this sooner!!!!!!!!!!! Let’s face it, folks. Diapers are EXPENSIVE, especially when you have a sensitive-skinned kid like mine. Not to mention, these disposables are filling up our landfills. One of my friends that lives in California cloth diapers. I’ve always been her biggest critic. I’ve always told her how that’s just not for me and how I can’t deal with that, especially the poop factor! But the more she talked, the more I found myself listening and actually considering doing this! I’ve always heard my mom say how awful cloth diapers were. Well, of course they were hideous! That was almost 30 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was a world without the Internet or cell phones for crying out loud! So, I have found myself spending hours upon hours on the Internet and talking to my friends who cloth diaper about this new world to me and Jack. And guess what??? It’s not that bad! There are many, many options to cloth diapering now. Basically, you can make it as easy or as hard as you want.
Yes, Jack is 15 months old. Why start now, you may ask? Because in 2.5 months, the diapers will pay for themselves, and in one year, we will save over $2400!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELLO!
As we speak, another friend of mine is sending me several different brands and types of cloth diapers to try. She went through her stock and was so sweet to mail these to me so I could try them out before we committed the money to buy a 3-day supply to get started. What a blessing!!!!!!!!! So, this weekend, we are exploring the new world of cloth diapering. I will keep you posted on how it goes, complete with pictures! I will also give you my latest found tips on the easy switch from disposibles to cloth, and even how I suggest you deal with our biggest fear, POOP, as newbies to cloth!
Stay tuned!
Bwahhahahahahaha (read as evil laugh!)
