Time is starting to move by so very quickly. I had been so sick in the beginning that every day felt like a year, but things are looking up! The nausea is subsiding FINALLY, and I’m starting to get a little of my energy back! I’m still not able to eat much, but it’s nice not to be sick constantly.
I am not quite ready for maternity shirts, but I am in maternity pants full-time now. Since the maternity shirts are still a little too big, I am showing pretty obviously in my normal shirts. I’ve lost a lot of weight being so sick, so I actually bought a pair of MEDIUM maternity jeans this week! I haven’t seen a medium since I was first pregnant with Jack! I’m sure I’ll grow into the large size later on, but it sure felt nice to be a little smaller for once.
I had my 14 week appointment this week, and everything looked good. My OB had a hard time locating the baby’s heartbeat on the Doppler. I didn’t freak out though because I knew how sick I had been and that was a sign of a healthy baby. So, we calmly walked over to the ultrasound room and had the tech take a look. The baby was moving around like crazy, which is why she couldn’t locate it well on the Doppler!!!!!! Its heartbeat was 169 bpm, and it was often sucking its little thumb. It even waved to us a few times! I could see and even counted all fingers and toes! It was pretty amazing. The baby had grown SO MUCH since last month! It still had a little tail, but you could clearly see its arms and legs, hands and feet, fingers and toes. You could even see the profile of the eyes, nose and mouth. It was really neat!

We won’t know the sex of the baby for another six weeks, but it sure felt good to see our newest addition for a few minutes!
